"Herbalism was once upon a time common knowledge. Luckily our ancestors were able to perserve and pass down some healing information that has continued its lifeline into our generation. However, there are still many people and families who do not have this information to provide further care for themselves and their families. While science and historical and anthropological research has also made great contribution to the use and history of natural medicine and healing, the information is not always so accessible or easy to digest and in some cases does not appropriately represent the culture and communities from which knowledge was deriven. Asc3nsion Art is hoping to change that by hosting an herb gathering that will provide access to practical methods of self-care to heal ourselves from the inside out through the use or herbs and plants as well as de-colonize the cultural use and history of plant medicine taught by community based healers and teachers.
There are many ways to be a part of what will be a loving and informative event. We are seeking sponsors, teachers, volunteers, vendors, photographers, and participants to join us in building this community event TOGETHER!!! Check out our get involved page to see how you fit in to the mix of what will be a transformative event!"
